The Buzz-Mo BCT-3 Bridgewire Continuity Tester is precisely engineered to safely indicate a complete bridgewire circuit in commercial electrically fired initiators, detonators, matches, and pyrotechnic devices manufactured following I.M.E*. Guidelines.

*The Institute of Makers of Explosives (I.M.E.) recommends that the minimum ignition current of an electric detonator manufactured by its member companies be not less than 250mA. The lowest ignition current documented by the U.S. Bureau of Mines was 173mA (USBM Contract #H0210058). It is your responsibility to verify that the device you are about to test complies with this standard before you begin.

BCT-3 New Features:
Custom isolation circuitry utilizing micro vibra motor technology
  • Pulls no more than 55A through the birdgewire circuit - that's micro amps!
  • Robust Tactile feedback can be felt through gloves
  • Invisible and virtually indication - suitable for covert operations
Buzz-Mo General Features:

  • Proudly manufactured in the United States
  • Outstanding safety factory: the 55A(micro amp) maximum current draw is a mere 1/900th the maximum allowable safe testing current of 50mA, as established by MSHA
  • Specifically suited for testing devices prior to final assembly or placement
  • The ONLY haptic Bridgewire continuity tester: Strong vibrating response provides positive indication, even in direct sunlight and noisy environments.
  • No more squinting or cupping to try and see an LED in bright sunlight
  • Small and lightweight: weighs less than 2 OZ, and is only 1-1/4w x 1-3/4h x 1d
  • Very easy to use: just touch the devices leadwires against the oversize contacts, a vibration indicates an intact bridgewire circuit(does not indicate resistance), and no vibration indicates a damaged bridgewire circuit.
  • Rugged sealed polymer case: in either highly visible "explosive" OSHA safety orange, or blacked out for EOD USE, also dustproof and water proof, and has been drop tested to 5 feet.
  • Oversized stainless steel contacts are the largest available on any model of tester, corrosion resistant, natural finish on orange models / black oxide finish on EOD models, provides easy one handed operation with no fumbling
  • Extremely sensitive -  reads through 150+ ohms of resistance
  • Operating temperature range 10 to 158 F (65-105F optimal)
  • Lanyard and storage pouch included -denier nylon storage pouch has zipper, belt loop, and chrome key ring
