USE OF NON-ELECTRIC INITIATION
The Scorpion S-27 is a compact and rugged light-weight Solid-State Electronic Capacitor Discharge Non-Electric Ini ator. The unit has been designed for instances when the user is able to u lize either electric or non-electric ini a on, and circumstances permit replacing a long lead of non-electric tubing with standard electric blas ng lead line. Opera on of the S-27 is simple. The user attaches lead line, per the instructions, which serves as the Signal Cable that commands the unit to begin a Firing Cycle. On the Ac va on end of the Signal Cable, an Electric Blas ng Machine (EBM) that produces a pulse of between 160VDC and 225VDC at 1.5 Joules to 4.0 Joules is a ached. When the S-27 is Armed and detects the appropriate signal from the EBM the unit will charge and func on the Shock Tube Connector (STC). After the Charge/Fire sequence the S-27 will Disarm and power off. At any me when Armed, even during a Firing Cycle, the S-27 can be Disarmed by depressing the ‘DISARM’ pushbu on switch. The unit will internally discharge and safely power off. The Scorpion S-27 is a completely sealed unit making it waterproof and impervious to dust, dirt, sand, and debris. It features EIT's specially developed Heavy-Duty Push Down Binding Posts for quick and secure Signal Cable a achment. And, the S-27 is engineered for rapid charging and operated by a single replaceable 9V ba ery which provides hundreds of Charge/Fire cycles. The battery loads smoothly through the side of the unit into a waterproof compartment secured in place by an easy-on/off Battery Cap.
