The Zircon StudSensor™ Pro55 is an electronic edge-finding stud sensor designed to quickly locate wood and metal studs and joists behind walls, floors, and ceilings. Its dual scanning modes provide standard and deeper scanning capability, while the enhanced LCD display and Target Spotlight help clearly identify stud edges.
Compact and easy to operate, the Pro55 also incorporates WireWarning® detection to indicate the presence of live, unshielded AC wiring while scanning. This combination of stud detection, visual indication, and AC warning makes it a useful inspection tool for professional, field, and general maintenance applications.
The StudSensor Pro55 provides two stud-scanning modes and can locate wood and metal studs and joists at depths of up to 1-1/2 in. (38 mm), depending on the scanning mode and wall construction.
Integrated WireWarning® detection alerts the operator to the presence of live, unshielded AC wiring while scanning. This feature provides additional information about potentially concealed electrical wiring in the area being inspected.
As with all electronic wall scanners, detection performance can be affected by wall materials, construction methods, moisture, metallic materials, and other conditions. WireWarning® should not be relied upon as the sole means of determining whether live electrical wiring is present.
