The NOVO Nautilus is an ultra-portable, diver-held digital X-ray system specifically designed for maritime EOD operators performing underwater inspections in environments involving potential munitions hazards. NOVO describes Nautilus as the first underwater digital X-ray system specifically designed for EOD maritime operators.

Designed for underwater X-ray imaging at depths of up to approximately 300 ft. (100 m), Nautilus provides instant, high-resolution digital images while remaining fully battery operated. The system supports operational configurations for both hostile and friendly waters, allowing EOD teams to remotely examine ordnance, investigate IED-related threats, protect critical infrastructure, and support harbor and port security operations.

Underwater Digital Radiography

Nautilus combines portable digital radiography with purpose-built underwater housings and controls to provide EOD maritime operators with immediate X-ray imaging capability at the inspection site. NOVO demonstrates the system imaging a limpet mine through 40 cm of water using only three X-ray pulses.
